WELCOME!

I'm Art Jacobs, a practicing artist specializing in pet portrait drawings and pastel paintings.  I've taught in public art centers and as an adjunct instructor in a community college.  I opened my own art instruction school - The West Plains Art Center - where I devoted my time to helping students develop their artistic skills and techniques, and contracted with other art instructors affording them the opportunity to use the space for their own entrepreneurial pursuits.  I am both intrigued and inspired by the Impressionists attitudes, their style, and  method of applying pastels.   My artwork has been featured in jazz clubs and other venues.  A charcoal piece is on permanent display at the Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox following the theaters renovation supported by the National Endowment for the Arts.  My most notable personal accomplishment is having five pieces of my pastel art judged and deemed worthy of acceptance as a member of the Pastel Society of America (PSA), headquartered in New York.  Contact me today to commission your pet portrait!
